Hey there, Thanks for asking about the Ranger, my name is***** and I will help out with the starting issue. That is frustrating when you go to start and you get nothing. My first suggestion is to do a load test on the battery. Regardless if it has 12 volts it still might not have enough amps to turn the engine.

2021 Ranger 500 - no start, rough idle, backfires and dies. So I have a new 500, only on my second tank of gas. About 200 hours on the unit and I am having terrible issues with it. When it does start, it backfires, surges, dies. It smells real gassy, like it is running rich. I was told to replace the spark plug.RD/BL wire to coil, injectors and fuel pump drops from 12 volts to 0 when key on. I tested the RD/BL wire at the fuse panel and it shows 12 volts when key turned on then drops to 0. I switched relays and no change. Tested wiring at the fuse panel for the EFI relay. Orange wire, 12 volts at all times. GR/WH wire 12 volts with key on, RD/WH wire ...Here is the information and what I have tried: - NO SPARK -. - Gauges and all other electrical items (lights, etc.) work. - The crank position sensor has been checked at swapped. Both test at 1017 ohms. (proper number is 1000 ohms +/- 10%) - The coil measures at 2.2 ohms on each part of the primary side (1-2 and 2-3). Book says 0.4 ohms.1998 Polaris 500 spark issues.
